::::::::::::::::: "People say the best place to hide is in plain sight. I, however, dissagree. If I find a remote enough spot where no one wants to go, much less will look for me there, I'm perfectly fine with not hiding in plain sight." ::::::::::::::::: Achoo!
Robin sniffled. Stupid Hay-- ah, wait. She took it back. Hay was fun, besides they fact that the hay in the old Academy Barn was dusty. Everywhere that sun-streamed through the cracks, you could make out dust-motes floating around each other like absurdly tiny dance partners-- adding character and an old-fashioned glimmer to the barn. But the dust made her sneeze.
Oh, well. Robin absently flicked her hand at her nose, making it twitch again. Robin, being the small little kid she was, liked small spaces. Places to hide, places to day-dream in solitude. So, likewise, Robin had found a little nook in the hay that fit her perfectly. Just big enough for her to lay and stretch out, as well as hugging the warmth of her body close. You probably wouldn't have noticed the tiny girl, unless you were looking and noticed two gleaming blue eyes in the shadow of the cave in the haystack.
Right now though, Robin wasn't meditating, jumping off roofs, playing her cello, or deep-sea-diving like you'd expect her to-- she was actually simply laying on the soft lay and leaf bed and thinking. She hummed softly, fingers miming a arpeggio. Now she was simply content to sit here, smile, and think. For hours even.
Of course, that would never happen.

He loved being in the barn. He wanted one of the unclaimed horses here, but he wasn’t sure if the Academy would let him have one. He still needed to ask the headmaster, or at least an authority. He wasn’t sure if he could even afford it. His father could barely afford his pay to the Academy. He looked around, smiling. He was really in the zone, completely relaxed and care-free. And that was saying a lot. Sai had issues with being around a lot of people. He had panic attacks, and they were not pretty. He frowned, stopping for a moment. He normally didn’t hear sneezes in the barn. And human sneezes, if any. He heard it loud and clear, as if it had cut through silence. He stopped, and turned to where it had come from. Since he was a wolf shapeshifter, he had better hearing than the average human. He could hear a person talking from half a mile away. He was confused as to where this person was since all he could see were stalls and horses. He frowned, wondering where this person could be. He started towards a stall, shaking his head. Surely they couldn’t be in a stall. He looked in, and there, on the floor, was a little person, a girl, all balled up. He frowned. Well, he had been proven wrong. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 246

::::::::::::::::: "Curse you instinct, for you've hurt me more than I ever could hurt myself." ::::::::::::::::: Half-Hidden under thr hay, Robin really didn't expect anyone to find her. In fact, when her mind had first noticed the teen, she hadn't been bothered in the least- assmuming that he, like the others, would pass over her- and sunk back into her half-asleep daze in the straw, drifting.
Apparently not.
In a jolt, Robin suddenly realized that the new person was standing right above her. Acting on nearly pure insticts, the shock inside her instantly summed Sai up aas a threat- his tall frame instantly intimidating her. Her small hand snaked out from under the hay and latched onto his ankle- pulling hard in hope to knock his feet out from under him. In the moment that followed, Robin planned to flee from the room, and in her mind, away from the threat.

She was so adorable! She looked as if she were just a child, no older than ten, at least in Sai’s opinion. He looked at her and smiled, inching closer. She didn’t seem all that bad, and Sai was about to say hi to her. He hesitated, not sure if he should trust her or not. Something in his gut told him that she was alright, but the little voice in the back of his head was throwing up a red flag. As he was debating what to do, the girl suddenly grabbed him. He yelped and fell to the floor. He hadn’t seen that coming. He struggled with her and then finally freed himself. He inched over to the corner of the stall, not really caring about the horse that was in the stall. He just wanted to get away from the girl. He curled into a ball and started rocking back and forth, shaking. He was starting to have a panic attack, and that was not good. Usually when he had them, he shifted into his wolf form. If he did that, then he would probably scare the horse and possibly injured the girl, the horse, or both. He would feel horrible if he did that. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 219

::::::::::::::::: "To understand someone, you first must know them." ::::::::::::::::: The second that the older man hit the floor, her hand snaked away and she leapt to her feet. Within two and a half seconds the girl had fled the stall and into the hallway. But alas, in those two and half seconds, Robin's empathic abilities kicked in-- and caused her to freeze half-way down the hall. Fear. Doubling over, Robin clutched her head-- shaking it back and forth. Why? Why could she never have a single moment of peace in this school? But now she felt guilty, incredibly guilty. Acting on instinct, she had obviously hurt this initially frightening figure-- not thinking, not thinking, not thinking... Slowly, on the tips of her toes, Robin skirted nervously back to the stall-- the stench of fear flooding her mind and growing as she approached. Cautiously, she peeked her head back into the stall-- hair falling downwards as her head turned sideways. There, there was the teen-- curled up in a ball in the corner. Robin bit her lip, and skittered back into the room, jumping from place to place on two nervous feet.

It was horrible. He felt so stupid that he was unable to control himself. He squeezed his eyes shut, whimpering, his whole entire body shaking violently. He only wished that it would be done with and that he would go back to being himself. Of course he knew that was not going to happen. He would just have to wait for his panic attack to be over. He could only hope that nothing else happened. He was trying so hard not to shift into his wolf form. It was hard for him since he really didn’t have that much control over it anyway. He continued to rock, but then heard footsteps. He opened one eye, looking around. He had heard them, but he didn’t see anyone. He whimpered again, wishing it would end. He heard more footsteps and opened one eye again. This time, the girl that had suddenly grabbed him was back inside the stall. He whimpered and inched away from her. “P-Please…don’t h-hurt me…”- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 183

::::::::::::::::: "When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." ::::::::::::::::: Hurt him? Robin almost laughed, but thought better of it. Sure, she could take someone down-- but only with the element of surprise, strategy, and luck on her side. For God's sake-- she was only 5"1'! Instead, she crouched down onto her knees and into the hay-- approaching Sai like she might a frightened dog. (Which wasn't too out of place, but Robin didn't know that.) "I'm not going to hurt you," She whispered quietly, almost aghast. "I thought you were about to step on me-- I'm sorry I hurt you. It was instinct." Yeah. It was instinct that I had grabbed Sai's foot, knocked him to his knees-- then fled the barn. Curse my instinct. Robin rolled her eyes in her head at herself. Why do my instincts always get me in such trouble?

He heard the girl’s words, but he didn’t want to believe them. As she talked to him, he continued to rock back and forth. It was just instinct? What instinct told someone to grab someone else, yank them down, and then run? His instinct would have told him to make himself as small as he could and to not move, hoping that he wouldn’t be seen and/or bothered. He wouldn’t have wanted to hurt someone. Not unless they touched him. That was the reason he didn’t believe what she was saying. He looked at her, still shaking. He nodded, not trusting himself to speak. Instead, he used thought speak instead. ‘I-I’m sorry…I-I have a lot…o-of panic attacks…P-Please forgive me…I-I might shift…’ He looked at her, his eyes filled with fear. He really didn’t know what else to say. He was shaking violently, a sign that he was about to shift into his wolf form. He looked at her, his eyes pleading with her. He knew he was about to shift. ‘S-Step…b-back…’ He closed his eyes, and he began to shift. He half whined, half whimpered as he felt his bones shifting. When he was done, he looked at her, whimpering, still shaking in his wolf form. ‘I-I’m sorry…’- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 210

::::::::::::::::: "Why are people scared of change? Sometimes change can be quite beautiful." ::::::::::::::::: Robin frowned back. He didn't believe her, she could easily tell. The blond didn't need to be an empath to read basic body-language. She really didn't mean to knock him over though, she had been telling the truth. Slowly shaking her head, Robin opened her mouth to say something-- but Sai beat her to it. A voice in her head? Now this was new. The initial shock caused her to jump slightly, but it didn't last long-- because he said he was going to shift. Another shifter? Robin smiled faintly. This was knew. Slowly, she scooted backwards-- allowing Sai some room as he completed the morph to wolf. Eyes sparkling, she turned back to Sai and grinned at his comment. "Sorry? Why are you sorry? Some people have less control over their power than others. I used to give off huge negative modletts to the people around me when I was in a bad-mood. Eventually, I learned to control it-- Like I'm sure you will too. Plus," the younger girl smiled. "I've always loved wolves. So majestic, powerful, and free."

The only reason that he was having this panic attack was that she had surprised him and had been too close. Then again, it was partially his fault too, seeing as how he had gotten so close to the girl and had caused her to do that. He blamed it mostly on himself though. The girl looked too innocent to be blamed for anything. He whimpered, not knowing what else to do or say to the girl. He continued to shake, although it wasn’t as violent as before. ‘T-Thank you…’ He hadn’t really been expecting a compliment, but he appreciated it anyway. It helped him to calm down, and he hoped that she would pet him. She moved towards him as if she was going to, but she hadn’t even reached out yet. He continued to shake, then spoke to her through his mind again. He only hoped that she wasn’t frightened by the voice in her head. ‘P-Please…pet me…I-It helps to…calm me d-down…’ He looked at her, whimpering. His eyes pleaded with her. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 182

::::::::::::::::: "Depth must be hidden. Where? On the surface." ::::::::::::::::: Pet him? The chocolate brown eyes of Sai's wolf form seemed to plead more than words ever could. It was adorable! Normally, Robin would be more cautious and quiet around people-- but, Sai wasn't really a person right now, and it seemed... easier like this. In a strange way, the girl was glad he had morphed. Not only was it a sight to see, but it was calming. Robin glanced off into the corners of the stall, in deep thought. She hadn't seen her own dog in ages. Finally, she turned back and smiled faintly, laughing. "Sure." Reaching out, Robin scratched Sai behind his ears-- like her own dog had loved. "You know-- I have a dog. She lives back at home. But she's not that much smaller than you are. In fact, she might be bigger. People always told us she was a big dog," With gleaming eyes, Robin looked Sai up and down. "...but for the first time I believe it." Thinking, after a few moments, she added, "Or you may just be a small shifter-- but somehow I doubt that." The sophomore patted Sai once, twice, thrice more on the head-- before leaning back onto her knees. Tilting her head to the side, Robin gave him a long look. In reality, she was analyzing his mental finger-print, trying to see if she recognized him-- or if not, memorize his so she could remember Sai if she ever saw him again. Finally, Robin blinked slowly, before, "So, Mr. Shifter. What's your name? And why were you in the barn?"
