APEARANCE.

Shiloh has a pale complexion and brown eyes, much like his son. He sports dark hair, normally kept short and combed down. He is not particularly tall for his age, but he can say with pride that he's approximately five inches taller than his only son, putting him at about five feet, eight inches. In his opinion it's a respectable height.
Shi wears glasses because he can't see anything close to him. However, despite growing up with glasses and being used to having them on constantly, he is now in the habit of only wearing them when reading. They're something of a secret from his students (albeit not a particularly guarded one). He is perfectly capable of seeing without them (sort of) and he would rather use them than use contacts. Poking his eye with a hardly visible lens atop his finger... Insanity.
Anyway. Clothes. Because he's a teacher, he feels it necessary to wear suits and ties. He wants to look proper for his students, and he pulls it off well. When not in class, he wears jeans and t-shirts just like everyone else. Nothing particularly remarkable. He does, however, own a leather motorcycle jacket and a road licensed street bike that some may see him on. Most wouldn't believe it was him, though.
PERSONALITY.

Shiloh is quiet- not one for many words or for drawing attention to himself, particularly out of the classroom. He prefers staying below the radar. He's very reserved, very introverted. Wild parties, chaotic situations, overactive children, dangerous stunts and the like all seem to make him very uncomfortable. He is not particularly daring or brave. No, rather, he's predictable, stable, and constant- never one for spontaneous actions.
Shiloh is paternal and patient. He cares for others, wants to see them happy, and he avoids overreactions and confrontation at all costs- even going so far as to seem void of emotion at times. Most of the time he seems to have a calm attitude about him. A sort of confidence in himself and in the world around him. Rarely will he yell, and rarely will he say anything he'll regret later (unless, of course, Kins is doing something silly. Kins pushes his buttons). It's easier not to give into taunting, rather than picking up the pieces after retaliation.
Shiloh is very shy around strangers. He manages in classes with new students, but it terrifies him. Strangers in general make him nervous. He tries to hide it, sometimes successfully but normally not.
HISTORY.

Shiloh Jay Malixi was born and raised in Scotland, as were his ancestors before him. He had a proud history and a very loving family. As a child, he was clever and cheerful with a gift for memorization. Even as a small boy, he was capable of hearing and repeating something, be it a song, commercial, or something else. He began attending school and he excelled in classes centered on lectures such as English and History. When he turned six, his power got noticed. The little boy was capable of controlling things no little boy should have been capable of controlling; the flow of time. This gave him an awful lot of confidence in himself, and a sense of control over the world that, at times, got him into trouble.
His parents took him to San Diego, California for 'observation' by a 'specialist'. They did blood tests, had him show them his ability and what he could do, and they made a file on the young boy. The week spent there was the highlight of his life, particularly when he went to the ocean and watched the ships. It was what prompted him to study American culture and history later in life. After the week they returned to Scotland and he was warned not to tell his teachers. Three months later, he was refered to a private school in Scotland for gifted children like him because he'd used his power in class. There, at the new school- Paisley's very own school- he was taught for many years. At seventeen his childhood friend and a classmate at his new school, Abby, got pregnant. He was estatic that he was going to be a father.
Kinkade was born in November. He was a delicate baby with health problems from the beginning. But he was a survivor and he, despite scares and hospitalizations, thrived for five long years. Kins and Shiloh had an irrevocably strong bond. They were close to one another in a way that Kins' mother was envious of, though she had a relationship with the little boy herself. The difference was the two boys admired each other for their shared and different traits. They just understood each other, it seemed.
When Kinkade was five, Shiloh got the chance to return to America to teach gifted students at an academy. His power seemed too dangerous to leave alone in society. He needed supervision and guidance, though he was nearing the age of twenty-two then, and he was an asset to any institution. He pleaded with Abby to move with him, to start a life abroad in a remarkable country but she refused and held Kinkade as a sort of ransom. Shiloh considered staying in Scotland for Kade, but in the end, he moved to America and filed for joint custody that awarded him custody of his son over the summer months. He was given sole custody when Kinkade was fifteen in order to enroll the boy in a proper school for his abilities.

•• ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
{Pshh... of course I'm not using this area of text to get my new favorite post ever in more places than just the journal. No way. I wouldn't do that...without admitting it.}
SILLY BEE
ah, please talk to me
won't you please talk to me
we can unlock this misery
come on, come talk to me.Buzz. Buzz.
Shiloh raised an eyebrow at the computer. No visible electricity was escaping it's casing, but he half expected it to suddenly start on fire, anyway.
Buzz. Buzz.
Tentatively, he poked at the laptop. It chimed several seconds later, as if in reply to his touch, much to his surprise. He leaned forward, noticing text on the screen.[10:13:15] kinseykade: hey dad!
[10:13:46] kinseykade: daad!
[10:14:03] kinseykade: don't ignore me!
[10:20:52] You have been buzzed!
[10:22:24] You have been buzzed!
[10:22:59] kinseykade: that bridge of communication is burning, dad. watch the smoke rise.
How odd... Well, when in Rome. He placed his fingers on the keys to compose a message, silently hoping it really was Kins (though, if it was he should be in class and not sending these messages). Four letters, then the return key. He looked up immediately at the screen, making sure it went through alright.[10:23:38] s.malixi: Kade?
Seemed so. The next chime brought a reply. In fact, there were several in rather rapid succession.[10:23:51] kinseykade: dad! there you are.
[10:24:29] kinseykade: do you have any chocolate in your classroom?
[10:24:58] kinseykade: there's this pretty girl and i kinda wanna give her something sweet, y'know.
[10:24:02] kinseykade: still there, shiloh?
Shiloh blinked. That's what it felt like, at least. One blink and the kid had typed that much. To the request, he could only smile and bite his lip to keep from laughing aloud.[10:26:49] s.malixi: Slow down. Yeah, I have candy bars in my room if you want a few. I also have chocolate frosting and graham crackers, kiddo.
Shiloh smiled to himself, proud to remember what a five-year-old version of Kins liked as a treat.[10:27:08] kinseykade: 'kay, i'll be there at lunch, shi.
Shiloh nodded to the screen, though Kinkade clearly couldn't see it, then leaned back in his chair. This was a start. A very good one at that.
