but at times i wondered if i had not come a long way to find that the thing i sought, was something i left behind.
[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Robin was bored, she admitted it. There wasn't much to say about that. It's just that there were no tests to study for, no homework to do-- no family to call, and Robin didn't quite feel like trying to wake River up this morning. Granted, it was three in the morning, but that was besides the point. Plus that dog of River that Robin had gotten her for last Christmas had grown up to her waist. Yikes. Big dog, big bark-- big heart-- big teeth. No thank you, not at three.
So what was there to do when it was three in the morning? Sleep was the likely answer, but Robin hadn't really well at all since her September adventure with Antonie, then there was that incident with Nik where sorta-kinda-intentionally knocked her out of the rafters of the school barn, oh-- and who could forget the time when that older Kat girl scared the living day-lights (or should I say life-force?) out of her? Then when River broke her leg, and when Ivan fell out of that tree, oh, and who can forget the time when she jumped off a roof and woke up to find that someone had been putting micro-chips in her hand? A classic...
The list goes on.
Anyways-- nightmares were a problem recently-- and Robin didn't really mind. Well, she had minded the first few nights-- but not anymore. Now sleep was just a thing that she avoided at all costs, and you avoided the nightmares. Simple solution. But what to do when you don't sleep? Stagger around half-awake in the wee-hours of the morning through secret passageways?
Bingo.
Well, you're not feeling particularly well (about to heave) it's always a good idea to go prancing around in booby-trapped passageways, only slightly off your game (about to fall asleep standing up and or/topple over) and go exploring! Yeah!
Welcome to Robin's world.
(Hope that wasn't too confusing. xD Haven't RPed in a while, especially with my favorite little abused OC. After all this on the site, I though it might be realistic to start showing some aftermath effects. xD Just slightly. I mean what fifteen year old? (now) sees people almost die, face their greatest fear ten times over, jumps off of roofs, and still acts completely normal? Sorry. I had to rant about myself. I just feel...

Ivan was tired, He always was, his leg was still slightly burning from before with him slipping down a tree. He thought of things to do that he hasnt done yet in life, spy on Kat? Naw, she would rip his head off when she would sense him. But he couldnt think of anything much to do as he wandered near and entrance to a familiar place. He noticed a shadow, a small one leaning against the wall. He breathed deeply wondering who it was. He literally woke himself up when he activated his heart. Oh the rush of the blood through his tired self. All Ivan want to do is to go to this stupid prom, and then leave with Kat to go live happily in Russia. He rubbed his head as he walked quietly, He peeked the corner, a small girl figure.
He instantly smiled, she saved his life. Considered she saw the unseen, He stepped carefully, she looked like she was about to plummet to her sleep. It was about three in the morning for Christ sake what is she doing up? He hesitantly walked up beside her and materialized, "You know its past your bed time?" He jokingly prodded at her. He had nothing to do so he might as well stay here. Hopefully Kat wasnt awake and just feel like entering him right now.
Notes: Its totally fine :) But i feel stupid because i didnt write a large as post ass yours... oh well

but at times i wondered if i had not come a long way to find that the thing i sought, was something i left behind.
[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote] Robin actually jumped a little when a line of red flickered off and on and her vision. Usually, a show of red would send her scrambling by now-- but she reconized this particular red. Red is her head had always meant something bad, up until she met Ivan. Then she had realized that red meant a surge in energy, usually caused by anger or the like-- but in Ivan's case it happened when he was invisible because of something that had to do with his heart? Or something like that, the girl still didn't understand the word invisible.
Anyways, it's hard not to notice a bit of red flicker in and out in her line of vision-- but Robin was just starting to get herself to react by the time it was gone and replaced by a smiling blue figure who poked her. Robin grinned back, and laughed quietly-- poking him back. "I don't have a bedtime, Mr. Ivan-- I'm not eight anymore." Plus, ontop of that-- she actually thought it was eleven at night, so that might have something to do with it also.

Ivan smiled as he leaned on the opposite side of the corridor, feeling the grooves around him. He chuckled lightly as she mentioned her age, "But its too late, even for you... " He orientated his Rolex for the outside light to shine on it and reveal its rather bleak time. The longest hand was about to hit the 5 minute mark of the 3rd hour. He then thought about what he said, he was very cautious with his words, except for when he was around Kat. But she is the love of his life. He shook the thought out of his head, and he looked at Christina with a bit of boredom.
He blurted out as he began to get sleepy a small bit. "What are you even doing here?" He was wondering too much today, his school work was too hard for so he couldn't care less about what he got on his tests, he was a natural test taker so he could get average grades without even studying. He frowned, there will be some big tests soon and he cant mess those up. He was just running his mind now, trying not to fall asleep, although they were in a worse situation than in an alley. His leg made a small spasm at the thought of him breaking it again.

but at times i wondered if i had not come a long way to find that the thing i sought, was something i left behind.
[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote] "Then you obviously don't know me very well!" Robin retorted, grinning in a friendly way. But still, she was slightly surprised when he showed her the time, the neon green light of the watch bursting through the clouds of haze that covered her mind at the moment-- and her eyes widened slightly. "Oh, wow. That is... a little off of the time I had in my mind." A pause, then, "Well, not too much."
Then the question. Oh great, that required actual thinking. A smart thing to say would to say a lie along the lines of exploring at night was one of the best things to do, but not really thinking straight, Robin replied, "Er, well-- I can't really remember-- it was something about sitting still is not my thing-- and--" Geeze, brain-- work. Well, when in confusion... "What are you doing here, Mr. Ivan?" The girl suddenly asked, turning the tables, voice almost accusing.

Ivan smiled as she was rather confused by the clock, he would be too, the lighting in this corridor made it seem earlier than it is. But then again she was young. He thought this next phrase through "No one knows who you are enough, thats what makes friendships fun." He finished with a smile, he didnt want to say his deep words right now, at 3 in the morning because she probably wont understand them.
But he said what he said as his breathe slowed down as if he was getting comfortable. He understood what Robin meant, some days he just cant stay still. But nonetheless she shot him a fast one, "I just couldnt sleep." He replied smoothly, another bullet dodged. He then coughed a small bit and replied "So, hows life after the 'incident'" he smiled.

but at times i wondered if i had not come a long way to find that the thing i sought, was something i left behind.
[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote] "Which one?" Robin replied dryly, head thumping back against the stone walls. "I've actually lost count on how many times I've seen things I'd rather forget."
Why shouldn’t I just stay here? Die here, on the nice, cool floor?
Sigh. Robin opened her eyes without even realizing that she had squeezed them shut at the memories that hounded her day and night. But then, there was Ivan-- waiting for a real answer, and Robin somehow created a flickering smile and said, "But if you mean the time you jumped out of that tree-- I'm okay. Life's been foreboding ever since, too quiet. You can tell somethings going to happen: this is the calm before the storm. The next storm."
And with that, Robin wearily looked up into the cave-- and for a moment-- despite her powers, despite that her vision was a painting of lines and lights with no depth-- Robin saw the shadow and darkness ahead. "And I can't help but feel that it's closer than I think."

Ivan chuckled lightly, but she answered his question before he could speak again, she seemed tired and needing of rest, she then spoke of another incident. He smiled "Hopefully not the prom." He chuckled to himself, he was going with Kat, and who Robin was going with he didn't know. "I know your situation, the situation of where you don't want to face the world, to bear through it another day..."
He sighed deeply, he would probably tell her about his history if he hadn't stopped himself. He noticed her gaze off into the side, him being paranoid, angled his head for sight dominance, he nearly saw hundred degrees of view. He couldnt make much out of what she was looking at, just a view instances of light playing tricks. And she would fall for them when shes this tired, and so was he, but he kept a strong grip on his mental state. He whispered lightly
"What do you see?"

(xD That thing in this? That was a memory, River said it once--- I should've made it more clear. Hehe, Robin's not suicidal. That would be over the top.) Christina Ann Robins
but at times i wondered if i had not come a long way to find that the thing i sought, was something i left behind.
[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote] Normally, Robin would've laughed at his question: What do you see? It sounded straight out of a horror movie when a prophesy was about to come-- right when the music picked up and the horror began or something like that. Robin was not physic, in the least-- nor did she have some sixth sense. Lucky for them, she can see through walls.
Wearily, she turned and glanced back at Ivan again. "I just know enough that the walls are full of treasure and traps alike. And," the empath looked up and down in the direction that Ivan was standing in, "that if I were you, I would be very careful on how you lean against that wall of yours."

Ivan chuckled lightly as he continued to lean against the wall. He suddenly had an idea. "Im guessing im leaning against a booby trapped wall?" He quizically replied, stepping away from the wall, relieving his weight, causing it to spring, the wall rotated one hundred and eighty, almost hitting him as it swung around.
"Nevermind." he forced out. The idea still hung around in his mind. "We should clear this place of them, so we dont have to worry about them anymore.." He blurted out, Ivan and his ideas. The last idea he had with Robin would've killed him. But nonetheless he peered into the darkness ahead, with only his eyes to guide him through this ever so dark place, he treaded slowly, feeling a small tripwire. He looked back an nodded his head.
"Heres one."

but at times i wondered if i had not come a long way to find that the thing i sought, was something i left behind.
[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote] Well, Robin certainly didn't expect him to to actually lean back against the wall. She opened her mouth to blurt out a warning-- but it turned out to be harmless enough, simply opening up a door to another passageway. Letting out a breath she didn't even realize she was holding, and closed her eyes. It turned out much better than she could've hoped for-- Ivan could've definitely been decapitated or something beyond her capabilities of healing.
Then he stepped inside, and Robin froze. Not a good idea-- but before she could stop herself the girl darted in after him, just before the door slammed shut behind them. Great. Great. Great-- just like last time. Memories of closing walls and slow claustrophobia pounded at her head form the inside out, and in the pitch dark, the sophomore squeezed her eyes shut as if to block out the memory. At least this time they weren't underground, so her powers weren't affected too badly.
Then the tripwire. Robin noticed it a second after Ivan pointed it and out-- and the girl's eyes gleamed as she focused hard on peering through the various walls to see the knobs and switches that were connected. "That one opens a hole in the floor a few feet ahead," she whispered finally, one arm delicately extending with the tips of her fingers crackling with blue life-force. Bending down, Robin took a better look at the wire once more-- before turning around to Ivan and asking, "Well, what do we do with it?"
