A little bluebird flitted through the air. She was in search of something. Actually, she was in search of a someone. Nikolas James Shadows to be exact, which she was. The bluebird was on a mission from God. Okay, maybe not actually God, but her grandfather. See, the bluebird was actually Lily Keller, student at Alexandria Academy, and granddaughter of the Founder, her grandfather. He had told her that he was dark – very dark, and he knew that she could do something about it. Apparently he held the power of vampirism – he fed off of others’ pain. Too bad he couldn’t cause her physical harm – she’d found out about her Invulnerability a few weeks ago. Lily was flying over the academy’s flower garden, one of her favorite places to go, as an animal. All the bright colors, smells, and interesting things she could never experience as a human. She loved her ability to shape shift into every different type of animal – though one thing never changed – her eyes. One blue, one gold, they stayed constant. Her grandfather believed that it was tied into her power, that she had one human eye color, and one animal. Letting out a little song, she landed on a bench. Peering around, she thought she saw a lone figure a little ways off. Shifting back into her human form, the way she was dressed, she somewhat resembled a bluebird. Blue dress, gold accents.
Well, guess I fit my guise today, a bluebird. Normally I’m a sparrow. I like being a bluebird – it’s so….different. Prettier, more noticeable. Of course, Kins always noticed me. Then again, he is my best friend.
As Lily walked towards the figure, she decided something. She wouldn’t quit, not until this evil – thing – saw some light. And to do so, she’d try and win him over. Lily was using her greatest weapon, her appearance. She knew how to look nice, and it didn’t hurt that her bud had helped her pick out her clothes. After all, he was a boy. He knew what boys would think. Nearing the figure, she slowed down, and pulled her waist length waves to frame her face. She put on a smile, friendly, but not over kill. ”I don’t suppose that you’re Nikolas Shadows?” Lily asked in a high, clear voice, like a bell. She was on guard, but she tried not to let it show. If this boy tried to harm her, she would retaliate. As an animal. With sharp claws and teeth. Vindictiveness had always been one of her worser traits – it ran in the Keller family. Her grandfather had it, as did her siblings and father. Her mother, however, was a peaceful lady, a balancing force in her family. Not that she knew them all that well – she’d lived with her grandfather all of her life. As eldest in the family, it was tradition that the grandfather would raise her. Keller family had been operating like this for many, many generations, and was the norm for Lily.

Nik turned at the sound of the voice behind him. He hadn't heard her come up, but that didn't bother him that much. Her voice was nice and feminine and she was dressed up pretty nice. Nik knew people pretty well, could figure most out, and it was obvious to him that this one wanted something. But what she didn't know was that girls didn't interest him, he had lost his one girl, he wasn't going to lose another. So good luck to her with winning him over with looks.
"Yes that would be me. Would I be able to ask why it is that you are looking for me?" he asked quietly. He revealed no emotions through his distinctly British accent, and he didn't plan on letting this girl find out anything about him that he didn't want her to know.

When the boy asked exactly why she was here, Lily smiled. ”Well, that’s for me to know, and you to find out,”
she replied. His British accent rolled over her, reminding her of Kin, and their many summers together before he enrolled here as a student. The long rides on the beach, lemonade and cookies on the porch. Laughing, giggling, having fun. And more recently, Lily falling off of Romani and Kinkade holding her tight. It was then that she realized that she’d wanted more with Kin. Back to the task at hand, Keller. Don’t get sidetracked. She reprimanded herself sternly. Time to turn on the charm. ”So how are you adjusting to Alexandria Academy?” She asked, choosing to answer his question with another, as he had done. Hopefully she would break the ice soon, Lily had read that he was not an open person. Taking a seat next to the boy, she smiled. Tentatively, Lily reached out a hand, moving to place it on his shoulder. ”I know what it’s like, to not be raised by your parents, I was raised by my grandfather, only seeing my family once in a while. I know it’s hard to find out suddenly you have a power, believe me, I wasn’t expecting my ability.” [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS :: 212 TAGGED :: NIKOLAS NOTES :: NOPE MUSE :: Absent. Nikk shrugged the girls hand off and stood, moving away from her to stand under a tree nearby. He was hidden under the shade, but his eyes were still the same, smoldering with anger and resentment at the world around him. He hated life, hated people, for both life and people had taken everything he had ever loved from him. Life and people had set fire to his beautiful mansion home, life and people were the reason Nicolae had gone away, life and people were the reason that he had lost Melanie. Life and people were the reason that Nik was alone.
"Oh my powers don't bother me. I quite enjoy them actually. And though you have been raised away from your parents, you know nothing of me. You always knew you would be raised away from them, I, while in the same house as them, never even saw them once Niclae was gone.Niclae left, and I was alone for good. So no, you don't know anything about me," Nik said coldly, the anger and resentment so plain in his eyes also plain in his voice. He didn't like people, never had and never would. And people who tried to be nice to him but just left him all alone in the end angered him worst than anything. So no, Nik did not like people.
