::::::::::::::::: “Somehow, facing an angry teacher seems worse to me than an angry friend." ::::::::::::::::: Robin considers arguing with the adult, who she recognizes as the Literature teacher. Instead, she sits up blearly, rubbing the spots as best she can out of her eyes, and nods meekly. "I'm sorry. I didn't know the floor would just... I'm sorry." They were far underground, Robin could actually feel her ears pop a little at the pressure, it was a minuscule thing though, and wouldn't likely have any more side-affects. Other than the fact that they were 100 feet under the ground. Not quite sure what happened, Robin gave the teacher an up and down glance, wondering what her power was. Racking her brain, she remembered it had something to do with gravity, or flight, or something... But, now they were in trouble with the English teacher. Lovely. Robin slumped back over and onto her back, shoulders heaving. She shouldn't be, but she was, exhausted by the teacher's plight. Every part of her was tense and rigid and, freaking out. The girl just now lost the adrenaline and realized what had just happened, and what was happening. They were trapped, underground. It was almost so unbelievable, Robin would've laughed if it were someone else in her position.

“It’s not her fault.” River says softly, still lying on the ground. “I wanted to know why the brick slid out of the pillar.” She crosses her arms underneath her head, gazing up at the ceiling with the oddest form of calmness, an odd serenity, given the situation at hand. Oddly enough, she’s not worried in the least. She had seen Professor Fieldings in the same situation, and she doesn’t seem messed up. She must have gotten out of it, or she wouldn’t be standing her today. Er, she’s technically back in the cavern, but she had to have gotten out. She’s a teacher at the school, and it’s quite impossible to teach if one is trapped underground.
She blinks once, and when she opens her eyes, the teacher is gone. Just, disappeared. Hm. Odd. She doesn’t think too much of it. That’s just the way things are.
(Tired of having to write a reply for two people. No explanation for why she’s gone. She just is. Poof :3)

::::::::::::::::: “So, left turn, or right? Oh, don't choose the left-- it's never right." ::::::::::::::::: Like River, Robin's not too concerned when the teacher just disappears. She's more concerned with the fact that their only route of escape had just closed with a resounding boom, that sent chills up her spine. Being plunged into darkness at first didn't totally worry her, as still being able to see with her eyes closed. But this was a problem. Being so far underground sent her homing device out of whack. Closing her eyes to look around made her head spin, and trying to gaze out more than a few feet in front of her was impossible, unless Robin wanted to knock herself out, which she didn't-- thank you. So instead, Robin kept her eyes opened and wide, the only source of light in the room being River's flash-light. Slowly standing up, Robin shook her head blearily, asking quietly, "I don't suppose you know how to get out of here, do you?"

She sighs and pushes to her feet, sweeping the flashlight beam around the large room-- one thousand square feet, about, and it doesn’t look like there’s a door anywhere. Who built this place? Any why? River scowls at the wall in front of her.
“…do you?” Robin’s voice, echoing oddly around the chamber. “Uh, I didn’t quite catch that. Mind repeating what you just said?” She closes her eyes as an image floats into her vision, one of the room, just the room. She rolls her eyes in her head. That’s really useful, Brain. Maybe something that’ll help me out of here? For once, her mind is silent. Great.

::::::::::::::::: “Here we are, trapped in the amber of the moment. There is no why." ::::::::::::::::: Robin followed the beam's light, also catching the gist that there was no door on that side of the room. "Er, nevermind," she sighed, shaking her head. Like River, she begins searching for a way-- what? Was that a breeze? Turning around slowly, Robin narrowed her eyes, trying to see better in the dim-light of River's misdirected flashlight. There! Robin could barely, but still make out the thin outline of an archway. Perhaps a way out? And why would there be wind blowing out of it? "Hey, er, River," Robin said slowly, "Could you aim your flashlight somewhere around here?"

She shrugs. Nevermind is fine with her. River runs the beam over the wall, looking carefully for a button, a switch, a loose brick, a scratch, anything. Nothing. She jumps as the breeze flows past her, and she twirls around, the light landing on the archway. Weird. That wasn’t there just a moment ago…
“What is that?” she asks Robin, the wonder clearly evident in her voice, her eyes widening. For once, she’s at a loss for answers. It’s something very odd for River, something that’s she’s not entirely comfortable with.

Okay-- I have an idea. But it's pretty stupid. S0-- IT'S YOUR TURN TO BE CREATIVE. ::::::::::::::::: "...and they had saved the world, and brought peace to the land. Their tales and legacy where told countless times to children, and those children to their children.. They were the legends that saved the world, and were then on they were called the League of Legends. Also known as: L.O.L." ::::::::::::::::: Robin fleeted around the entrance to the arch-way, nervousness fluttering around like a trapped and frantic bird in a cage-- otherwise known as, her heart. Not being able to see beyond the door-way frightened her, she had always been able to know what was coming-- which is why she had never been afraid of sneaking around, climbing into open windows, or such. But now... Robin shivered, glancing backwards at River-- almost wanting to ask if she found another, more well-lit way, out on the other side of the room. Well, in all those horror stories, it was always the person in the back that got attacked. Or was it the front...? Oh, what does it matter? The girl shut off her train of thought and stormed through the arch-way, every sense, every nerve, on high-alert.

She almost calls out to her dorm mate, having the smallest tingle of a feeling that something bad is going to happen if they go down that hallway. Instead, the ground shakes beneath her feet, shocking her into motion. She slips through the doorway the split second before it closes with a boom.
“Robin! Wait up!” River skitters after the blonde, not wanting to be alone in the darkness of the underground cavern. She’s almost caught up when the ground shakes again, knocking her off of her feet. She crashes into the wall, yelping, as the tunnel begins to curve.
(Grumble… Making me use my brain… I dunno what to do!)

::::::::::::::::: “No man knows when his hour will come; As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.” ::::::::::::::::: "Huh?" Robin turns around, almost forgetting about River in her determination not to freak out. After all, birds are not supposed to be underground, now are they? Then the flash-light flies across the room and bounces across another part of the cave wall, plunging the cavern into darkness. "River!" Dark. Dark all around. It's totally suffocating. Then the stone wall slams into her side, sending Robin flying three or four feet. She mutters something obscure under her breath and lifts herself off the ground, ankle sending jolts of pain up her spine. Can't take the dark. Have to-- see. Robin closes her eyes, shoulders heaving. What she sees is like one of her worst fears coming to life. "RIVER!" Robin screams, darting toward the girl an grabbing her by the arm "We gotta' run, this way! The cave walls are closing in!"

River sucks in a breath through her teeth, a long hiss, as her light rolls away, casting the strangest shadows on the walls. She pushes quickly to her feet, darting toward the flashlight, snagging it with the tips of her fingers. She turns it away from herself, watching as the tunnel splits into two paths in front of her. Without thinking, she goes for the right fork. A maze is like a code-- you just have to know the right way to crack it. River’s omnilinguism will work on it for a bit, but, in her frazzled state, she can barely think to put one foot in front of the other, to keep running. It doesn’t help that the code keeps changing, either.
She glances back over her shoulder, “Robin! This way!” She rolls underneath a falling boulder, popping back up without missing a beat.

::::::::::::::::: “Remember-you can't beam through a force field. So, don't try it.” ::::::::::::::::: Robin nodded vigorously, not really caring that River couldn't see it. She concentrated on pushing her legs into a rhythmic stride, bringing up and pouring on as much speed as possible in her body. Her ankle screamed, and she compensated, telling herself that time was time. It would be over soon. That's the key to endurance, the way to unlock every block of energy in your body. Thump. Thump. Her feet pounded over the earth; hair whipping around her face, Robin sprinted through the gradually narrowing tunnel-- dodging falling rocks, leaping over falling pillars, mind working furiously to calculate the distance ahead of them. Her lungs burned, but she found the strength to shout up ahead to the fleeting River, "We can't make it in time! There has t-to be another way!" Then, her mind shut down. Fwoooosh! Robin slid to a halt, dirt and dust spraying up like a miniature wave at her force. Moving her arm in a fluid motion, Robin took a martial-arts stance, fists curled and chest heaving for air. Then, not even thinking, Robin unlocked the life-force within her, feeling it flow through her veins in a surge of power. She felt strong, invincible--! and she allowed it to flow to her hands in a rush of transparent blue flame. Eyes closed, and feet almost slammed and locked into the earth, Robin rammed her arms into the wall that had just begun to brush her shoulders. WHAM! Both her bones and wall rattled from the force as her left arm slammed into one side of the wall. WHAM! Her right arm struck the other side. With a seeming mind of their own, the flame spread into the air, growing along the cracks and edges of the receding wall. Then, Robin inhaled deeply-- and released the energy within her. And the force-field held the walls in place. ::::::::::::::::: HAHAHA! You're right! New abilities DO PWN!

She growls, low in her throat, as she reaches the end of the line. The walls come to a sharp point in front of her, quickly closing in. She turns to run, but the rapidly narrowing point of the wall is faster. A whimper tumbles from her mouth.
PAIN. It blazes up from her right leg, already wounded from her outing with Saiyuki earlier, already broken from the feral wolves. She does not scream as the walls squeeze her leg, does not howl as her ankle is all but crushed to smithereens. She drops, trebling, to the ground, pulling desperately to get away from the pain. Two mini earthquakes barely register on her consciousness, and then she tumbles forward, free.
She lies sprawled out on the cool stone ground, staring up at Robin. She means to thank her, but the words don’t come. Instead, she says-- “You haven’t ever done that before.”

::::::::::::::::: “Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.” ::::::::::::::::: The walls are pushed backwards by the life-force sustained fields, crackling with the aura and life that is keeping Robin alive. It pours into the cracks and seams of the walls and slams them backwards at least 20 feet. Then, the neon-blue that had lit up the room snuffed with a faint breeze of air. Robin slumped to her knees, muscles trembling as they dropped to her sides. Then, in the silence that follows River's question-- Robin doesn't even crack a smile as she lifted her head from her crouched position on the dusty gravel of the earth. Through gritted teeth, she mutters, "...and I won't be able to use it again if we don't get out of here." And she staggers to her feet, legs trembling, and reaches down to hoist the taller girl to her feet.

Grudgingly, River accepts the help, but only for a moment. She can tell that keeping the walls at bay is creating quite a strain on the tiny, bird-like girl, and she can’t bring herself to cause the blonde any more hardships. Propping one hand up on the wall, she closes her eyes, pulling into her mind’s eye a picture of every maze she had ever seen, overlapping them, searching for the similar pattern, the one trick to staying alive, the eye of the hurricane. She smiles as it pops into view, after only a few seconds.
“Robin,” she rasps, “Follow me. Keeps the walls away for as long as you can. I know the way out.”
Without waiting for a response, she sets off, supporting most of her weight on the wall. It’s slow going at first, but, when she’s determined, she’s like her namesake-- nothing can stop the rushing river, no stones can get in her way.

::::::::::::::::: “Signs of fatigue soon manifested themselves more and more strongly, and slowly the men dropped out one by one, from sheer exhaustion. No murmur of complaint, however, would be heard.” ::::::::::::::::: Robin stumbled after the girl, somewhat uncertain what is going on, and how River could have possibly figured out the best place to go. Has River found a pattern in the bricks? Has she been down here before? The girl doesn't question it, however, and simply in a mute of figure, follows River deeper into the maze. Twice more Robin has to stop and force the walls with a new chuck of her aura back to their place; each time a little less further than before. Her hands grew numb and white, and her face leaked with perspiration, but she pressed on-- knowing that River was probably in more pain than she was in the moment. Robin wasn't in pain, she was simply exhausted. Turn, turn, stumble, stumble. Where are we going? Left, left, right, right, stagger, stagger. I can't do this anymore.
