I felt I was spinning my wheels Before too long the road was calling I packed everything I own So sure that I was leaving this small town life behind for good And not a single tear was falling It took leaving for me to understand Sometimes your dreams just aren't what life has planned Ash looked at the paper that had his room number on it. Room 400, with Kinkade Malixi, Saiyuki Takafumi, and Pierre Giroux. I'm the only elemental. Gosh, I wish Tens was here. Tens was short for Tenskawtawa Sozu, who was his best friend from back in Ireland. Even though Tens was born in Ireland, he was a full-blood Native American, of the Lakota tribe. Tens was also an elemental, and he'd written to Ash saying that he'd soon follow him to Alexandria. In fact, Ash had brought that letter with him, as hope.
Ash wasn't in love with Tens, he was by far the opposite. They'd grown up together in northern Ireland, discovering their powers together. Ash missed him, they were like brothers, inseperable until now. Finally reaching his dorm, he opened the door. Peeking inside, he noticed two other boys in the dorm. Great, just what I need...people, he thought. It wasn't that Ash was anti-social, just distrustful of new people. Especially guys. A lot of guys that weren't straight tened to flirt with him, much to his annoyance, and right now, Ash was not in a mood for boys trying to hit on him.

I’m told that people like to call us dreamers Because we won’t ever stop until we’ve done all we can do There are so many things I haven’t seen So I’ll look ’till I just can’t look no more
Pierre looked up, startled. There was another kid in the doorway. And he looked pretty annoyed. Um. Well, it wasn't Kinkade. He did not recognize this kids face. Um. Who else was supposed to be in here? He ran through the list posted inthe Macedonia Dorm hall in his head:
Room 400: -Kinkade Malixi
Nope, not him. Already thought of that.
-Saiyuki Takafumi
That was his new friend. And assuming he couldn't shapeshift and clone himself... that was most definately not the new kid.
-Pierre Giroux
Er. No.
-Asher Strayhorn
...tabarnak, he was stupid. There were only four names on the list, anyway.
He stepped out of the doorway where he and Sai had been talking and waved. "Hello- you must be Asher. Call me Antoine, and that kid over there" -he pointed at Sai- "is Saiyuki. There's an open room across from his."
He was being to talkative today. That was new. He pulled at his collar nervously. "Er... you are a junior, right?"

His hopes had been shattered when the man talked to someone who was in the doorway. He looked and saw another man, and he was even cuter than the first one he had met. He couldn’t decide between the two on who was cuter. He decided that he would make up his mind later. Right now, he had to deal with his nervousness, which was escalading into a serious nervous breakdown. He had only two episodes in his whole life, and those situations had been far worse than this one. His shaking had gotten to a point where it was noticeable now. He nodded at the newcomer, smiling weakly at him, trying to be polite. He was also trying to stop his nervous breakdown, but that didn’t seem like it was happening. He put his flute away, afraid that his shaking would cause him to drop it and break it. He curled into a ball, trying not to be noticed as much as possible, and shaking violently. He didn’t want pity for who he was, but the way he was shaking seemed like a pity magnet. He just wanted to be alone and to be confident. Why was he so damn pathetic…? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 204

Ash replied with slight annoyance. Looking around the room, he noticed another boy, shaking horribly. Raising one eyebrow, he studied the boy. It must be Sai, as he doubted the name Kinkade belonged to an Asian. But you never know. Ash walked to the only open door, and peered inside; seeing a pretty spartan room, he grimaced. I need to go into town and find stuff to decorate my room, I won't survive with it so plain.
Setting his stuff inside the door, he walked back out into the living area. "Yes, I am a junior..but don't be expecting me to follow your commands just because you're a senior,"
replied Ash in his thick Northern Irish accent. Gesturing to Sai, he asked Antoine, "Is he always like this?" A small amount of annoyance crept into his voice. Honestly, he didn't care, he didn't trust these people-especially not the shaking one-and didn't give a care what they thought.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Err... sorry?" he trailed off, unsure of himself again. See, this is exactly why he didn't usually speak out. This was why. Stupid you, Pierre. He stood there stupidly, shuffling his runners against the floor as Asher brushed past. He pulled at his collar again. Well, at least he'll be able to get along with one roommate. Maybe. Provided that he didn't break down, like it looked like he was about to. Oh. Crap.
"Err, that's not what I meant... I just wanted to check." Shut up shut up shutup shutup Pierre, his mind was telling him, but he didn't listen. Oh, and now the kid had noticed Sai. Bother and shit.
"Er, no, not normally..." he managed, but how was he to know? Pierre had met him five minutes ago. Think, Pierre. Think. "Hey, Sai, could you look at some of my sketches?" It was random, but maybe it would calm the kid down.

He couldn’t believe what was happening. He was having a nervous breakdown in front of two cute guys. How embarrassing. He hated himself now. He whimpered softly, not sure how to stop his breakdown. He figured he would just let it run its course like the other two times that it had happened. He wasn’t sure what was going on, but he could feel that something was off about himself. He didn’t know it, but he didn’t feel right. He tried to speak up, to get the men’s attention. Sai only hoped that they would help him. “H-Help me…” Tears still ran down his face. Suddenly, something started to happen, and he knew that he couldn’t stop it. The dark gray fur sprouted on his hands first, and then in a wave it covered his whole entire body. His bones cracked and bended as he started to shift to his wolf form. A tail sprouted from his butt, and ears popped up from his head. Soon, he was a fully fledged wolf, and he whimpered, still shaking from his breakdown. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 189

Asked Ash, it was a simple question, really. When the boy named Antoine began brushing the crumbs off of Solarium boy's shirt, he raised his eyebrows. OCD much? The plants discontinued their attempt to enter the dorm, and the humidity level dropped back to normal. The wind however, picked up, nearing almost twenty miles per hour, enough to send paper flying. Sparks flew off of the flames that licked up Ash's arms, catching on the nearby wood. However, the wood showed no marks of burning, the flames weren't actually touching the wood, and the fire was cold fire, safe to touch. Seperating from the flames came all sorts of animals. Stags, birds, snakes, horses, fish all traveled through the air. These were also cold fire, harmless. Some of the gentler animals landed near Sai, as if trying to calm him down. Ash, had no control over what was happening, he was as completely bewildered as anyone else as to what was happening. He watched the animals with a sort of awe, he'd never realised he could do such a thing. A butterfly broke away from Ash, and floated towards Sai. Landing in front of the wolf, it flapped its wings questioningly. Ash tried to put an end it the fire, but it wouldn't stop. KINKADE i've got time for you. you can call your friends for, we're heading on a journey.
Life was strange. One minute you could be walking down the hallway eating a strawberry poptart, and the next; bam. There's a wolf, a boy you don't recognize, and a flaming- yes, flaming boy you thought you imagined last time you saw him all in your bedroom. Er, not exactly your bedroom, but only a few feet away. At times like these, you had to ask yourself. What would you do? It's not an instant answer with things like this, not even for a self-assured empath.
So, did he leave the room, closing the door he'd just entered through? Did he step in between the boy with flames and the wolf? (from what he saw, he thought they were preparing to fight. That, or the wolf had just got beaten by the dream-boy and now the dream-boy was finishing him off) Or, none of the above. He took another bite of his poptart and walked over to Pierre, the one in the room he didn't recognize.
"I think I came at a bad time. Just curious, but did you let the wolf in?"Kinkade questioned curiously, his gaze going to Asher and Sai.

Okay. Deep breaths. What was happening? Pierre made a list.
1. The cute kid was turning into a wolf. 2. The new kid was on fire. Literally. 3. Kinkade was getting pop-tart crumbs on his shirt.
He brushed them off, mostly because he couldn't think of anything else to do. "Er... I'm not quite sure. He wasn't a wolf at first." Er. That was a rather useless comment. Um. THINK, you stupid boy!
Well... wolves were just wild dogs, right?
He hoped so.
Slowly, he crouched down and stroked the wolf 's- Sai's- fur, gently rubbing his neck and the area behind the ears. "Please calm down, Sai," he said gently. Well, it worked on his sister's dogs, it was worth a try. He kept rubbing the wolf and repeating the phrase, over and over again. His stomach was in knots, but he kept going.

He just wanted it all to go away and never come back. He wanted to be normal for once, and live the normal life of a teenage boy. But did he have that choice? Nope. Of course not. He would never get that chance in his life. He suddenly felt a hand on his fur, and he tensed from instinct. He then realized that the that it was someone petting him. He didn’t care who it was. He just liked the feeling. He stopped whimpering and put his head up, looking at the man who was petting him, the man whom he had first met. He looked at him saying thank you with his eyes and then his tongue as he licked him. His shaking went down a little, but it did not stop. He inched closer to the man, closing his eyes. His ears went halfway up, a sign that he was beginning to trust the man petting him. ‘T-Thank you…I-I’m sorry…’- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 202

KINKADE i've got time for you. you can call your friends for, we're heading on a journey.
His dorm? Kinkade would see dream-boy every night before he went to bed? Considering the fact that he was pretty sure at least one of the two times he saw the boy must have been a dream (probably this time, considering the oddness of the situation), having him in the same room would just be weird. But why was he dreaming about dream-boy? Strange dream-boy. What part of his mind was that created from? Maybe it was time to spend more time on the fifth floor, or at Shiloh's house...
If it was a dream, and if they were both going to comfort dream-wolf, Kinkade was going to entertain himself with one of the flame creatures. Namely, one of the birds that flew up toward the air. Slipping away (they seemed too distracted, anyway) he climbed up onto the furniture, reaching into the air for one of the flames. There happened to be one small enough to fit in his hand; perfect. He scooped it into his cupped palms, then brought it down next to his chest, examining it with genuine interest. After a few seconds of standing atop the couch with a bird in his hand, he looked up at the other boys in the room.
"Oh.. Yeah."Kinkade murmured. Empath. He could project emotions he was feeling. So, to be helpful, he projected his own silent fascination; a sort of calmness, with just a hint of excitement as though it'd been tilted, ever so slightly, in favor of happiness. It wasn't meant to be overwhelming, just to settle the room and keep- if he could help it- any tempers from flaring.

He tensed a little when the wolf-slash-Sai licked him. It's not that he had anything against animals, but being licked was not exactly his favorite. Also, it was slightly disturbing to know that the person who would be sleeping in the same dorm as him for the next nine months had licked him. Err. He kept petting him anyway.
He glanced up. Asher was still in flames, but, oddly, nothing else was. So... his ability was like the burning bush that Moses saw, from the Bible? It reminded him of that story, a little bit, but the sight was still freaky.
And then the little flame animals came out.
He reached out to touch them, hesitantly, with his other hand, stroking a deer as it came near him, then pulling back his hand almost immediately. It wasn't the searing sensation that he had expected- on the contrary, the thing wasn't warm at all. Pierre reached his hand out again, running his hand around the deer's neck, caressing it in the same way he was rubbing the wolf that was slowly calming down beneath him.
This was calming, sort of. Sort of exciting, too. Fascinating.

He felt so humiliated that he wanted to run out of there and never return. But for something was keeping him there. Maybe it was the man who was petting him. Maybe it wasn’t. He honestly didn’t know. He finally stopped shaking completely, and he whimpered, looking at the man who called himself Antoine. He then saw the man who liked like he was on fire. Literally. Sai whimpered, turning his head along with his ears towards the flaming man. He didn’t know what was going on, but he suddenly saw the butterfly in front of him. He watched it, and tried to paw at it, but it flew away. He then watched the rest of the flame-animals around him. He was fascinated by what the man was doing and how he was doing it. He suddenly started to shift back to his human form, and after he was done, he sat up. “I-I’m sorry…” He could actually talk now. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WORDS: 212

I felt I was spinning my wheels Before too long the road was calling I packed everything I own So sure that I was leaving this small town life behind for good And not a single tear was falling It took leaving for me to understand Sometimes your dreams just aren't what life has planned "Why are you apologizing?"
asked an astonished Asher. He couldn't understand why to boy was apologizing, but truth be told, he didn't really care about what the boy was doing, as long as it didn't concern Asher himself. Looking at the animals, he noticed that now that the boy was calm, those nearest himself were actually starting to singe the walls a bit, letting off some smoke. Why was his power so wild at times like this? Closing his eyes, Asher imagined that the creatures that were burning, had disappeared. When he opened his eyes a bit later, Asher saw success. The birds near Kinkade were vanishing into thin air, and the stag walking lazily through the air poofed into non-existence. Finally, his power was beginning to behave itself. Two of the birds, however, nestled right up next to him. They cuddled against his neck, and Asher rolled his eyes. The butterfly that'd flown over to Sai, fluttered onto the boy's shoulder. "Now that that's all said and done, I say we go back to our normal lives." His voice frosted over, once again distrustful. Ash backed into his dorm, shutting and locking the door. Rubbing his face with his hands, he felt a longing for his sister, Tens, and for Ireland. He laid down on his bare bed, and closed his eyes. Right now, all he wanted was to be left alone, or Tens. Definitely Tens. If Tens had opened up that door, all Ash would have done to him was tackle him. Or verbally abuse him, good-naturedly, of course. [[this thread isn't done. I'd love it if you aggravated Ash some more XD]][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
