When you first see Asher, you notice his deep, brooding expression, and the dark eyes that seem almost black. He stands at a mighty six feet, seven inches, atypical for the stereotype of the ‘wee man from Ireland.’ His dark hair is wavy, at about a medium length, Asher likes to keep it trimmed to this length, any other length is a nuisance. His body is well muscled from years of running, swimming and working out. He doesn’t appear to be the body-builder type, but he’s not scrawny either.
Asher has a strong jawline, and his chin is always clean shaven. His nose is medium, not hawkish, but not miniscule either. Full lips that are just a hair too red, are centered under his nose. Long, dark eyelashes frame his nearly black eyes. Asher usually can be found wearing dark jeans, a white t-shirt and a black leather jacket, but occasionally he’ll wear sweaters and nicer clothes. He has expensive taste, but he can’t always afford the pricey leather that he likes so much.

On the outside, Asher appears to be not the nicest guy, his stature can even be a little standoffish sometimes. He always appears to be thinking about something, even if it’s just about his sister. It takes a lot to get to know Asher, as he is very distrustful, and will usually give you short answers until you’ve gotten to know him. However, once you’ve gotten him to trust you, he’d tell you almost anything, except for his few dark secrets. When you’ve befriended him, Asher is loyal, he’d do almost anything for his friends.
The person he loves the most in the world is his sister, he strongly believes in the power of close family. Asher would do anything to save his sister, even risk his life, if she were in enough danger. The same goes for the one he loves, he’d to practically anything to save her. Asher also believes in trusting the one you share your life with, and not doubting them. He is very sweet to the girl her likes, and can be very, very passionate as well. Asher has a huge temper though, when he gets mad. It can be downright scary when he’s upset, him being an elemental, as they are very volatile with their emotions. The best thing to do when he’s angry is to just leave him alone to cool off, otherwise he might lash out, and regret it afterwards.

It all began on a warm summer night – Midsummer’s Day, in fact. Rixon and Brigid Strayhorn were the proud parents of a baby boy, born with eyes the color of coal. They named him Asher, for his eyes, for after you burn coal, you’re left with ashes. Asher was a finicky child, always playing by himself and never with the other children at his daycare. At two years of age, he received a baby sister, Finndabhair Elphame Strayhorn. Finn was never a loud child, always observing, never talking, she disturbed Asher at first, but as they grew older, Asher came to love her more than anything else.

Three years after that, Asher and Finn received a younger brother, Finnick. Finnick would never grow to walk, or even speak. A fire burned down the Strayhorn family home, caused by arson. Being the only two elementals, Ash and Finn escaped, the rest dying from the flames or smoke inhalation. Asher and Finn were taken in by their godfather, one of the rogue elementals. Though at the time, Asher was unsuspecting; Finn, however, was taught in the ways of the rogues, and blamed Alexandria Academy for the killing of her parents. Both Ash and Finn were taught how to control their abilities, and embrace their powers, Ash though, disagreed with how his godfather taught him, to use his powers for violence. Finn appeared to take Asher’s side, but secretly, she embraced how her godfather taught them.

Eventually Alexandria came to call, when Ash was a Junior, and Finn a Freshman. Their godfather insisted that it was imperative that the brother and sister stay with him, but operatives from Alexandria ‘took care of’ the godfather. They flew into Charleston, South Carolina, where the Founder met them, and drove them himself in a power-negating limousine to Alexandria Academy. Finn was furious when she found out about what really happened to their godfather, and vowed to make Alexandria pay. Asher is still unaware of his sister’s devious plans, and is going to try and do whatever he can for Alexandria Academy.
