KINKADE no way out of this dark place no hope, no future. i know i can't be free. but, i can't see another way.
Kinkade knew he was in deep trouble when he woke up in a room that wasn't his. And, even bigger trouble when he realized he hurt. Was this the hospital? Was he thought with another surgery? How was that even possible? He groaned and pressed his palms against his face, trying to remember. Nothing. Okay, this was fine. No one seemed to be in the room. No one was talking to him. He was by himself? He looked at his watch. It was wet and frozen in time, likely from the water itself. A timeless room. A timeless, lonely room.
Then his eyes strayed to the nearby bed. Robin! Oh, god. What had they done?
"Robin?
"Kinkade's voice was alarmingly raspy. Water would be nice right now, but he didn't exactly know where to find it, so he pushed the thought aside. " Robin!" Now his voice sounded almost urgent. He couldn't bring himself to move from the bed he was laying in, but he wanted to. Maybe if she didn't answer, he'd get up. Maybe he could.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

(I'd like to answer, I really would. But I would be defying all laws of which I created for my charters power. so I'll just torture your charrie for a while longer. Giver her a few RP minutes. and so, I, just going to add on mylast post from the other thread cause I'm lazy like that. And my iPad's on red.) :::::::::::::::::
"Sacrifice. Many call it the meaning of life."
::::::::::::::::: It was all a blur from there. She remembered someone talking to her in a low voice, telling her something about... something. She couldn't remember much, or even think much, as she felt herself being picked off the ground.
Normally by this point, Robin would get extremely irritated, she hated to take help from others-- but all she knew was that everything hurt, all over, and that it felt, it felt as if her chest was ripping itself inside out. What was worst though, is how she could hardly feel the emotions of people around her. Normally, it was unbearable, but now it seemed as if it was to few, too little, like there was nothing left for her to use, to hold onto...
It felt like fading away,, she suddenly realized- the longest and most stable thought she had been able to form in the past few minutes. Then another one followed. Is Kin alright? Where is he?
The the words faded again and it was a black. She was lying something soft again, and relaxed slightly. But it did nothing to comfort her last thought.
Then finally, I am alone. And it was worse than she could ever have imagined it.
And the world remained black.

KINKADE i'm alright 'cause i have you here with me and, i can almost see
(Oh, no qualms there. Kinkade is gifted at maintaining a post with no dialogue. It's actually kinda scary. Anywayy~)
No answer. She wasn't dead, was she? Building... jumping... falling.
"Please, tell me this wasn't a suicide attempt I was trying to stop and ended up part of.
"The idea mortified him. But it was conceivable. If he were to take his own life, it made sense that he'd have to face the person he did it with. Or, well, okay... It made sense if you were inside Kinkade's head. " That can't be it,"Kinkade rubbed his forehead. It wasn't that he couldn't remember so much as he didn't dare. And if he remembered, he'd have to fully acknowledge the pain and the simple fact that he'd agreed to jump. So. Blissfully unaware, the boy puzzled over this strange situation. Then, rather abruptly, he decided it didn't matter what the reason was. The fact remained that there was pain, and there was a lack of mobility on his part. " I'm not dead. There's too much pain for that. So you're not dead, either, right?"Kinkade questioned. Somehow, just talking to her, even without a response, was easing the sense of fear that was building inside of him.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"When you can't see, you can't hear, and you can't touch-- loneliness seems much more infinite."
::::::::::::::::: Quite suddenly, she was there. It hurt, oh yes it hurt alot, and she almost passed out again, but she was aware. Aware that something wasn't right. Something inside her, something spiritual, something with her...
Oh.
It quite suddenly came back to her. Robin had given some of her life-force to Kin. To Kin because he, they, were hurt, very badly. Worse than he knew. She had give him life-force, and then what...? She couldn't see, It hurt to much to open her eyes. She couldn't hear the emotions around her. It's very lonely. Very, very, lonely.
"Kin?"

KINKADE there is light! well, if you knew how much this moment means to me...
"Ah, the sweet angel wakes."Kinkade grinned. "Good- er... I don't actually know what time it is. But whatever time it is, I'm sure it's good for it's respective time classification.
" Kinnkade wouldn't have been able to explain to himself, much less her, why he was compelled to say so much when every word seemed to hurt and when he wanted nothing more than to hear her voice, not his own. But, perhaps the easiest answer was that he wanted to comfort her, to assure her that everything was okay and that they were both alright. He wasn't sure of that himself, but she should be. Even that was hard for him to understand. He wasn't exactly the best at comforting a person, despite his attempts and his ability. He did try though! That was worth something, wasn't it?[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Who, what, where, when, why?"
:::::::::::::::::
A faint smile flickered across her lips despite protestation. So he was here, but why couldn't she feel him? Why wasn't his unrelentless perkiness piercing her soul? Why was it so quiet? Robin coughed quietly, before using nearly all of her strength to open her eyes. Her gaze searched the room, carefully, trying not to miss any details.
"Where are we? What happened?"

KINKADE something in your eyes makes me wanna lose myself, makes me wanna lose myself.
"We're in a timeless, not-lonely-anymore room. I mean, timeless because my watch,"he lifted the arm with his watch on it up in front of himself, squinting at it,"Doesn't seem to be working anymore. As for what happened. We jumped off the building.
" Now that it was something to be proud of, he remembered it clearly as a daring adventure, not a terrifying, stupid idea. " Into the pool."Here he had to laugh." 'Cause you, Robin, are incredibly lucky." That was the only way to explain it, wasn't it? Luck. They were very, very lucky- the both of them. Despite the pain, despite the strangeness of this room, the pair of them surely had a lot to be thankful for. Most of all, Kinkade was just thankful Shiloh hadn't confronted him yet. Wow. Jumping off a building to avoid getting noticed by his dad. Maybe there was something wrong with him. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"But it's the stupid moments that make a life-time."
:::::::::::::::::
Robin lauged quietly. "That was very stupid of us. Of me. Of you."
Slowly, things began to click together in her mind. The comet, then falling asleep, then trying to jump into the pool to avoid detection by Kin's dad. It hurt. A lot. Robin grimaced, noticing a throbbing beginning in her left ankle. Then... Then something about apples.
"What happened after that?" She asked genuinely, something happened that caused her power to go out of whack. Something that made her feel like her chest was folding in upon itself. Something she didn't remember, but had a terrible sneaking suspicion about.

KINKADE scars heal glory fades and all we're left with are the memories made.
"Stupid? I thought it was inspired! Brilliant!
"Kinkade argued, sounding almost playful. Now wasn't really the moment for that, and it sounded a bit forced, like he was trying to sound happier than he was. Oops. " After we landed in the pool? You gave me an apple- I left it by the pool. Huh. I'll have to go retrieve it..." Okay. So not the time. Just an apple, Kins. He got himself back on track, smiling slightly before continuing. " And then there was pain, and your pretty blue flames, and you ignoring me- gotta work on that. Ignoring me, I mean. Brave, though- er, never mind. Then we were brought here. I sorta fell asleep, so I don't know where here is, precisely. But it's, well, here." There was no use trying to keep his mind on her question. Now that he was thinking about how she so openly ignored him, and about how he hadn't yelled at her for it, he was almost lost. So wrapped up in his own pondering, that was, over something that didn't even matter now.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

:::::::::::::::::
"It is hardly possible to build anything if frustration, bitterness and a mood of helplessness prevail."
::::::::::::::::: "Brilliant?" Robin scoffed, playing along-- not really noticing his forced kindness. Her voice dropped a pitch, quietly shaking her head. "I almost got us killed." Hesitating, Robin seemed to shrink into the cot. Away, away went the joyful little Robin, and came again the quiet pianist of old. She felt like she should say something light-hearted here, but anything she came up with felt dry in her mouth and a pitifully weak attempt at a jibe.
The apple. Oh yes, there was an apple tree by the roof-tops. The tips of it's branches had gleamed bright in the sun of mid-day, and the apples ripe and plump. Robin remembered her hand moving slowly through the air, as if in a dream, and snatching two small ones in one hand-- pocketing them without a second thought. She could still feel the weight of one pressed uncomfortably in her jacket pocket, a dark brown thing that she had worn over her red-tank and black shorts. Suddenly, she realized that they should've still been wet from their devious feat-- and wondered frantically how long exactly they had been out of it. It couldn't have been long, she wasn't hungry in the least-- in fact the thought of eating anything made her stomach churn in disgust.
"...then there was your pretty blue flame," Robin suddenly realized Kin was still speaking and jostled herself out of her thoughts. Then they fell asleep? Secretly, Robin doubted it. More like her body had said in an annoyingly realistic voice, "Alright, kiddies-- enough play time, time for a nap!" And then flicked Kin's and Robin's off-switch without a word put in for themselves otherwise. It was all coming back in painfully bright and realistic flashes now, and now her attention was focused on a particularly confusing moment. For her at least.
:::::::::::::::::
Stop it," Kinkade urged, much to his own dismay, before he used his free hand to retrieve a soaked bottle of Aspirin. "See? Look. I have a way to make the pain stop," Well, no. Aspirin was not a miracle pill. But maybe it could take the edge off... Maybe.
She turned her palm over, and let the flame leak into the Earth before letting her eyes close. Some... some of it came back to herself, of course, it was only natural, but if they both brighter from it-- why did Kin tell her to... to stop? She didn't... understand...
:::::::::::::::::
Feeling as lost and confused as when she had in that particular moment, Robin turned her head, despite her aching muscles, to face Kin. The proud, brave and playful Robin might have been able to put something into words then, but that part of her was collapsed in a deep part of her mind. Robin blinked slowly, then simply asked, "Why?"
(There! My longest post yet! I felt like I had to make up for my incredibly dim-witted and short posts last night, er, this morning. But since you are thread leader, you might want to bring some OC's onto the scene, otherwise I'm gonna run out of things to say. XP )

KINKADE looking cool in my superman cape i told the neighboorhood girl, said, 'hey, y'all, watch this!'
(Probably a good idea. I was just stalling soo I could have Shi be the one to help, so I didn't have to make up NPCs in such a vital moment. But. I don't care enough to post before he's officially accepted, so I'll just use NPCs. ^_^)
"Well, we're not killed. You know.. the strangest thing is, I probably would have been too scared to climb back down, off that roof."His tone grew subdued. Why was he admitting that? That was hardly something one should be proud of. So why did he tell her that so willingly? He bit his lip. Curious, but not important.
Why? What kind of a question was why? Well, what kind of a question was it when you had no idea what she was asking why about. He assumed, since his mind was centered around it, that she was referring to why she couldn't just ignore him.
"I don't know. No one ignores me. Never really considered why. Maybe it's my dashing appearance, or my irresistible accent,
"Kinkade kidded, trying now to make light of it. He had no way of knowing that she was still worried about him wanting her to conserve her energy and not help him. Giggling. He smiled, expecting it to be Robin, only to find it wasn't. A nurse had entered the room and apparently heard Kins overly confident explanation. Kinkade's cheeks reddened. "Good evening, you two,"the woman greeted, a smile on her features. Her emotions were a bit muddled- not entirely genuine, almost disapproving as she looked at the two of them. She seemed to keep that back though. Her job, as she told herself, was just to administer pain pills and examine them. Kinkade knew it, too, because it was all that mattered to her right then. Odd. The nurse walked to Robin first, holding a glass of water and two white pills in her hand. "These should help."she offered, holding the pills out first.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"A lot of people say they want to get out of pain, and I'm sure that's true, but they aren't willing to make healing a high priority. They aren't willing to look inside to see the source of their pain in order to deal with it."
::::::::::::::::: Robin remained silent throughout his explanation. Now, as the pianist swept the dancer aside; although still confused; her question still unanswered, she remained in silence. Kin admitting he had been scared was enough to put her at a somewhat ease-- glad to know she wasn't alone. Robin may not have been scared to climb back down, but she was scared off what would have come from it. Instead of climbing back down, she leapt without fear.
The girl laughed faintly at Kin's banter, his over-confident way of giving an explanation to an unasked question-- but was covered by a shrill giggling that filled the room. With dismay, Robin realized it was a nurse. A nurse carrying sleeping and pain pills. Robin bit back a cry of irritation. She had slept long enough thank you, and if she was going to sleep some-more-- it would be naturally, not by some virus like chemical eating the active stimuli in her brain. If she was going to heal, it was going to be full-force. Robin didn't want to be walking around half-drugged, not even being able to tell if she bit her lip, or stepped on something sharp.
But even though Robin's powers were severally weakened, she was smart enough to realize something was off about the nurse. Whether Robin was just a bad judge of character, or there really was some sort of hidden ulterior motive of this woman, she didn't know. But she turned her head away from the extended pills and water, refusing the offer with a small shake of her head and a quiet, "No, thank-you."

KINKADE my fate was a broken arm my reward, one big kiss
She refused? Kinkade stared at Robin, expecting her to change her mind and take the pills. The pain had to make them tempting. And the nurse, at least to him, seemed harmless enough.
The nurse was as surprised as Kinkade was.
"You.. don't want it?"she questioned."They're for the pain. You two had quite a fall." There weren't exactly instructions on what to do if they refused. But it didn't seem like that much of a problem; they would change their minds. They had to. The pain would get to them. They were young and foolish, but they would change their minds.
"Robin?
"Kinkade questioned curiously, trying to figure out why Robin's emotions were giving the clear impression that it was the lady, not only the drugs, that she was being cautious about. The nurse gave a small shrug and a smile, walking to Kinkade's side to offer the pills. He shook his head, wanting to see what Robin's assessment was first. "You two really should take these."The nurse murmured, her annoyance just under the surface as she stood between the two beds, seeming to expect one of them to break and ask for the medicine in her hand.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

:::::::::::::::::
"Sleep lingers all our lifetime about our eyes, as night hovers all day in the boughs of the fir-tree."
::::::::::::::::: She couldn't explain it. She just couldn't.
Robin's fingers curled around the mattress uncomfortably, and she shook her head again. "...I... I don't like pills. Plus, I'm feeling better-- they won't really help at all." An obvious lie. Her fingers, hidden under the thin blanket popped and crackled with blue sparks-- and suddenly her eyes and face seemed much better, much healthier. An old trick she had taught herself. It wasn't exactly speaking the truth, but anything to get out of taking those terrible white capsules.
Worst off, she had seen those pills dozen of times. Maybe it was an honest mistake for the nurse, but those were not pain-killers. Sure, they'd take away the pain-- but only because they were heavily concentrated sleeping-pills. Could knock you out for hours. Robin had watched her mother swallow them many times when she was younger, maybe nine, and how the woman seemed to shrivel into an unnatural sleep.
Someone, something, wanted the two empaths out of the picture for a while. Whether it was for an honest to god reason to help with the pain, or something more sinister (Robin couldn't think of what, or why), those pills were going to end any waves emotion that flooded Kin's and maybe her own brain for many hours. Days, depending on how many they took.
Robin was not going to take these pills unless ordered to.

KINKADE daddy asked me why i did it i made him laugh out loud when i told him, 'cause the chicks dig it'.
Kinkade's gaze didn't leave Robin. What was she thinking? He couldn't tell.
"Maybe later,
"Kinkade suggested, addressing the nurse without looking to her." Could you, uh, get something chocolate? Ask Shiloh- er, Professor Malixi, if you see him. Just like, candy bars or something." Maybe now wasn't a great time for treats, but he wouldn't mind a little sugar. Unlike Robin, he was definitely hungry. He should have eaten that apple. Plus, it might get the nurse out of the room, at least for a few precious moments. "Alright, I'll grab something,"the nurse agreed, giving one last look at Robin. Troublesome. She smiled at the girl anyway and turned, making her way out of the room. " Don't know about you, but I could definitely go for some candy."Kinkade grinned, trying to ignore the more pressing matter at hand. If she didn't want to take the pills, he wouldn't make her, and he wouldn't either. But they were tempting now when all he could think about was pain.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
