Lily Keller don't you wish you were a fly on the wall? "Oh really? Then why aren't you allowed to exert yourself or go into the hot springs? Could it be that maybe, just maybe he forbid you?" Lily was only joking, she knew the real reason why. In case she hurt him, she sent a wave of regret towards him. Lily began absent mindedly tracing a pattern on Kinkade's hand with her finger.
"I know, I know. But I'm warning you: Grandfather can be harsh sometimes. I remember when I used to sneak out and attend shapeshifting classes as a small animal. The instructor didn't mind, but Grandfather didn't want anyone to find out we're related." Sometimes Kins acted like he was an expert on girls' emotions, he wasn't. Rolling her eyes, Lily smiled.
"No scary movies, you know how they make me feel. So does Grandfather. And you're more that a not-so portable mood ring, you're my best friend." More than once, she'd had nightmares for days afterwards because Kade had wanted to watch a scary movie. "You're so egotistical, Kade. No wonder you don't have a girlfriend." Lily was teasing Kins. Secretly she hoped to be his girlfriend, but she kept a heavy curtain around those feelings, guarding them from Grandfather and Kinkade. Early on in her life, her grandfather had taught her to cloak her thoughts and feelings well.

KINKADE scream until your heart stops. never gonna regret watching every sunset we'll listen to your heartbeat
Lily's jest held little weight for Kins. Yeah, Shiloh did forbid it. And Kins respected him enough to obey, at least most of the time. It was hard not to when he knew the emotions behind it. Shiloh was just worried, and he was new to this whole father thing. He worked so hard to get Kins here. Imagine if Kins went and did something stupid, made it all for nothing! It was all too likely. The regret that followed the joking was the only reason he bothered to address it.
"Shiloh may forbid it, but if I disobey, he's too kind to enforce any sort of consequence,
"Kinkade chuckled. In other words, he could get away with just about anything if he wanted to. But he supposed she could, too. In fact, Lily seemed to him to be the second most powerful person in the school, seconded only to her grandfather himself. " That's to be expected."Kinkade replied knowingly before grinning playfully. " If you were my responsibility, Lily Keller, I wouldn't let you out of my sight. You're far too precious for this mean old world." Which was true. How her grandfather could part with her, even for an instant, when he had her so close was beyond him. But, Lily did have him to keep watch over her, and she was sort of trapped on an island. It wasn't like she could catch a train and venture from sight. Still, Lily made Kinkade nervous. To see anything bad happen to her was a daunting prospect. " I know, I know. I'm sorry. Happy movies. In fact, I have a favorite happy cartoon movie! Despicable Me." No, of course it wasn't strange for a seventeen year old to enjoy Disney movies!... Well, he did enjoy them. And Despicable Me was somewhat of an improvement. The last movie he'd liked was the one with the squirrel thing that drank coffee, where they tried to tell Little Red Riding Hood from all sides. That had amused him to no end for months when it was first released. Simply because of the squirrel, if you must know. " My ego's getting in the way?"Kinkade sounded thoughtful, as though it were some sort of revelation to him to hear that maybe- just maybe- he was a bit too self-assured." Huh. Pity." Well. No need to dwell on that. As for her emotions- well, even if Kins had been aware of them, he wouldn't have been able to act on it. Love was such a strange thing, and definitely not something he had any sort of confidence about. He adored Lily- she was his favorite, hands down. But love was a word better left unsaid, if you asked him. " So. Despicable Me. Have you seen it? Can we watch it?"Kinkade's tone was suddenly excited. He really did like that movie. It was one of the few movies he'd watched recently that got him laughing every other line. But, it was so clever! And the emotional aspect, the way it could bring out the sort of loving, feel good emotions in those around him definitely appealed greatly to him. It was simply the perfect movie.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
