••LET'S GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER
APEARANCE.

Kinkade Malixi is short- that's where the nickname Pixie comes from (well, and the last name Malixi). He stands at five feet, three inches. His hair is brown with blond highlights, naturally the brown color underneath the blond highlights. Normally he spikes his hair but sometimes he lets it down (making the resemblance between father and son more pronounced). Kins sports a pale complexion and doesn't seem very capable of holding a tan. He's prone to burning rather than tanning (not that he particularly cares either way).
As far as attire, it varies dramatically. He's the type of kid who will wear whatever shows up in his closet, whether it's his or a friend's. He's not particularly concerned about what gets put on, as long as something's on. If he were to go shopping for his clothes, he would make sure he had sleeveless undershirts and silk, button up dress shirts. Dark blue or black jeans, whether they were baggy or tight would likely catch his eye, though anything with intricate sewn in designs or any sort of drawings would likely be dismissed (he will, on occasion, draw on articles of his clothing if a marker is left near enough.) For shoes, he wears 'skater' shoes. Vans, World Industries, or Airwalks- a bit too big length wise, but always a perfect fit width wise.
PERSONALITY.

Kinkade is, well, Kinkade. He's intelligent and passionate, but by the same token, he's cold, calculating, and vengeful. One minute he can be hugging you while the next he's filled with enough rage to kill- at least, it seems so. For the most part, Kins will try not to get too close to you. But, it seems that he manages to get close anyway. He's magnetic, energetic, and unpredictable. Yet, oddly respectful and polite most of the time.
Kins seeks authority, so he breaks rules just to be told no. He's no daredevil, not out for attention or glory among peers, but he seems to have little caution when a new idea comes to mind. Often, friends have to either join him or attempt to talk him down (talking him down is a thin tightrope of a task.) In the end, the only thing that governs his life is his own sense of a moral compass. He decides what's right and wrong for himself- your opinion on right and wrong doesn't matter much. He makes the rules for himself and expects everyone else to, too.
On the darker side, he's very jealous and very suspicious of people. He finds it easier to push people away than to deal with their constant emotions, so he comes off as cold and uncaring to deter any relationship. In fact, the kid is downright mean at times. He acts superior, like everyone he doesn't know is somehow substandard, and he uses his intelligence to be harsh. And, back to vengeful. He will forgive, but he won't forget any injustice. It's like a painting- once you make the mark, he's not the type of artist to paint over it. Around it, yes. Never over it. And it's never finished until he's got revenge. He's also quick to anger. It's like, he's got so much pent up emotion to spare that he gets mad easily and quickly. It passes, he doesn't hang on to negative emotions.

// You take the high road... //
"You have to go, Kinkade."His mother was insisting as she walked toward the door to answer it for his father.
"Mumm, please."the seven year old pleaded. As usual, he wasn't prepared to leave on the plane to America. He wasn't ready to see Shiloh, either.
"You're father's come a long way- I will see you soon, I promise. You can call me every night, and I put some paper and envelopes with your stuff."She reassured.
"But mum!"Kins whined, stomping his foot in protest,"I don't want to leave you."
"I'm sorry."She sighed, pulling open the door."Shiloh, please come in."
"Thank you,"Shiloh agreed, stepping inside."How's it going, Kade?"
"Go away!"Kinkade yelled before running off to hide.
---
// I'll take the low road. //
"Did you really think I'd turn around?"Shiloh questioned rather abruptly. Kins shifted in his seat, unwilling to look at Shiloh though Shi's gaze had turned to him. It was a long plane ride, and Shi wasn't one to forget. But maybe... He focused on the blue sky through the glass of the window. Shiloh was irritated with him for hiding, for almost making him late, and most of all, for upsetting his mother with his antics. Didn't Kin want to see him? Apparently not.
"Kade. Did you really think I'd just turn around if you threw a tantrum?"Shiloh persisted. This question had been asked a million times over the years, but it wasn't easier to answer now that he was nine and bound for the entire year to his father.
"No, just hoped..."Kinkade mumbled. It was always obvious when the two of them spoke. They were worlds apart, despite the accent the two of them shared.
---
// You're pointless, repetitious and extremely dull! //
Kins pushed the door open, holding his breath to avoid being noticed. Unfortunately his father was leaning against the door frame across the room, waiting for him. No amount of stealth could hide him now.
"Where'd you go?"Shiloh asked. Kinkade winced, then smiled, looking up to Shiloh as he tugged down his t-shirt nervously. They both knew Shiloh had told him he'd stay home, but Kins had left the moment his father wasn't looking.
"I was with a friend."He answered. That's where he always was- with his favorite person in South Carolina, Lily. His father hardly saw him, save for putting him to bed, all because of Lily. There was no father-son bonding, no special moments, just an endless stream of summer days spent with Lily or, occasionally, one of the older children of the Alexandria Academy. Sometimes Shi wondered if taking his son from Scotland was worth it at all. He missed Scotland himself, but he had his place here, at this school, teaching these kids.
If he asked Kinkade, he would have got the suggestion that he should be left with his mother. With his mother, life was carefree. School was familiar, the accent was natural, and everyone knew who he was where as here, he was nothing but a stranger.
---
// Your reputation proceeds you. //
Today was the day his mother normally called for him. This was the first year she wouldn't since he was nine, and he knew it. He kept staring at the phone, willing it to ring, but no one called for him or Shi. Not a family friend, not a teacher out to tell his father of his latest antic, and not one of his few friends from class. No one. There was simply the silence and loneliness that seemed completely uncharacteristic for a day he normally celebrated. Summer was ending.
Shiloh was off grocery shopping. He'd offered to take Kin along as usual, but had been refused. Apparently he didn't know what today was. But that was okay. That was better. After all, this had once been a dreaded occasion for his father. Now he was getting what he wanted. To keep Kinkade for the entire year, not just three months. To be fair, it was a bit lopsided. His mother had him for nine months, his father for three. If Kinkade could have appealed to a judge for his mother to have sole custody, he would have. He also would have, without a doubt, regretted it if it came to pass and he didn't spend a summer with his dad.
"Shi's not so bad."Kinkade mumbled into his pillow."I mean, he takes some getting used to, mum, but he's okay. Really. He is. Sometimes he's even a bit funny and somewhat clever." Kinkade smiled, then closed his eyes to fight back tears. When he opened them again, he threw the pillow against the wall as hard as he could, only to find it falling back onto the bed. A lot of good that did.
Here he was. Alone with his own emotions. Now this was alarming. There was no chance of returning to Scotland. Now there was simply this. This house, this school, this life. The future was grim.

Empathy is his ability. Kinsey is very perceptive of people around him, especially what they're feeling and why. He picks up on little details about people if they feel strongly about it, and he can make people feel what he's feeling. Most of the time, he feels like he's got too much information about people. It feels like their emotions are constantly infiltrating his consciousness. It's like, he can't feel what he wants because there are too many other signals to alter it. But he hates to be alone. To feel absolutely no signal, nothing... That is scary, so it's a necessary evil to endure people.

•• ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
KINKADE
come on, hoss, let's have some fun!
go on, shoot me with your radar gun.
you look bored and I sure am.
catch me if you can.Kinkade Malixi was short, yes, but some of these kids just seemed giant! Whether it was due to their ability or just because the population here was so diverse, the academy's student body was intimidating. Being the second-to-youngest year didn't help, either, though there were some short classmates to pal around with if Kins felt the urge. He doubted he would.
This was nothing new. Kins had been introduced to the school when he'd been in elementary school, so he was a common face by now, at least to the teachers. He was Shiloh's kid. Which was exactly what someone- not him, of course- should have told the person who bumped into him. His eyes lit up, his fists automatically clenching. If this person didn't get to the sorry in a hurry, Kins was swinging. It wasn't that he was always so quick to jump to conclusions, just that it'd already been a long day, and he was ready for something to happen, even a fight. Now, laughing at this angry pixie may have been in order, but any sane person would advise against it.
The anger and tension instantly left Kins when he saw who it was who'd bumped into him. A pretty girl? As any boy, he was quick to apologize, to come off caring and concerned right off the bat even though he hadn't done anything. Not that he was interested in the girl in particular- if anything, he acted out of habit.
"I'm sorry,"Kins offered, his tone soft and subdued. It seemed to emphasize his Scottish accent and it was a stark contrast to the burst of anger that'd shown itself in his expression just moments before. Upon examining the girl, she seemed okay, but it never hurt to ask."Are you alright?"
