~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Είναι μια ζωή μόνος πραγματικά μια αξιοπρεπή ζωή? Is a life alone really a life worth living? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zena walked quietly down the restaurant avenue. She was starving, with no money, and walking by the food was just about killing her. A sigh escaped her as the smells whisked themselves by her nose, tempting her. She wanted food so badly, she couldn't get back to the Academy fast enough. It was a cold day, the clouds covered the sun and all the warmth that it normally would be sending to the average people, and not so average, below. Zena could hear Artemis grumbling in the back of their mind that they should have dressed better, as she had said before they left. Her flaming hair was caught under her scarf, tickling the back of her neck. Zena let out another sigh, and said, “Ανάθεμα,” under her breath as her stomach rumbled again, very loudly. This was going to be a very long day. Words: 145 Outfit: Here
SKITTLES echo, echo i don't wanna be just another echo. Well, Zena may not have had money, but Kinkade certainly did. He had more money than he needed because his father was far too generous for his own good. But instead of buying anything particularly healthy, the boy spent a bit of money on a bag of blue tropical skittles, pocketing the other eighteen dollars which could have very easily bought him lunch had he been hungry.
It was those skittles that distracted Kinkade enough to bump into a girl in front of him. One minute he was digging through the bag for a green one, the next he was stepping back and looking up at a girl he hadn't noticed before.
"Uh- sorry,"he muttered. Then it hit him. He'd seen her before! It was hard to miss that bright red hair. He hadn't actually talked to her before, but he knew she'd been around. Which meant she had powers like him. This made her interesting.
"Hey, aren't you a student at the academy?
"Kinkade prompted curiously, figuring he already knew the answer. Realizing he was still holding the skittles, he glanced at them, then offered them to her. Sometimes being an empath had it's advantages. And while hunger wasn't an emotion, the sound of her stomach rumbling was all the indication he needed. " Candy?[/blockquote][/blockquote]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Γλυκά: Τρόφιμα των Θεών Sweets: Food of the Gods ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zena was hurrying down the street back toward the ferry that would take her back to the Academy, and food. Then Artemis was yelling at her, literally knocking her out of her mind for a second, to look where she was going, as a kid knocked into her with a soft "sorry". The he seemed to notice her. Zena had seen the kid in the halls before, and apparently he had seen her, or Art, never knew which one he saw. "Yeah, I go to the Academy," she answered him. He offered her the skittles as her stomach growled and she gladly accepted. Forgetting who she was talking to, she said, "Ευχαριστούμε." Zena, he doesn't know Greek, you idiot. Art snapped in her mind. Words: 124 Outfit: Here

SKITTLES echo, echo i don't wanna be just another echo. Kinkade smiled to himself, glad that he could do something nice. But his expression shifted quickly when she began speaking, what he assumed, was jibberish. What in the world... Leave it to him to talk to someone weird. But maybe this wasn't so bad. His approach was just to act like he hadn't heard her say the other part. He could just reply to the English and call it good.
"I go there, too. I'm Kinkade. Who're you?"Kinkade introduced politely, his smile warm. His name was unique enough that he didn't feel he needed to include his last name, and besides; including his last name would just draw an unnecessary connection from himself to Shiloh, the history teacher. Who wanted that? Certainly not him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Για το σοφό, τίποτα δεν είναι κανονική. To the wise, nothing is normal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I'm Zena, and I'm sorry bout that a second ago... Um, English isn't exactly my first language, so sometimes the Greek just kinda slips out," Zen said, returning the boy's smile. She fingered the edge of her scarf, oddly not on edge. Talking with anyone but Art usually had her running in fear, but she wasn't now...which was beyond weird, it was just plain wrong. Usually Art was the one who talked to everyone, usually got in fights with everyone too. For once, Zen was glad that it seemed she'd be able to have a normal conversation with someone, and it was with Art's backing that she decided to play it the normal girl card. Usually, guys freaked out when they found out you were schizophrenic, and Zen wasn't ready to see this guy, the incredibly cute guy that was smiling at her right then, give her the look that most people gave her upon finding out. Now hopefully nothing would happen that would require Art's presence to become known. Words: 171 Outfit: Here
SKITTLES echo, echo i don't wanna be just another echo. It was a good thing she wasn't telling Kinkade she thought he was cute. He was full of himself as it was, there was no way to stroke his ego any further. But he would have liked her for it, so if she thought it was worth it, it may have done her well. He would have went on with,'it's nice to meet you,' had she not added the bit about the language. Oh. It wasn't? Well, that was hardly her fault. There was no harm done, really.
"Don't worry about it. I grew up in Europe; foreign languages aren't that startling to me."Kinkade tried to reassure her casually. He didn't speak a different language fluently himself, but she could very likely tell by his Scottish accent that he wasn't American at the very least.
"I didn't mean to hold you up. Uhm,
"Kinkade hesitated. This was so odd, and he knew it. It was a fine line between making her uncomfortable and being kind. Was it his fault that he was more aware of her emotions than the average person? He couldn't just stand there, letting her go on being uncomfortable. But how do you tell a person you want to buy them food? She wasn't a homeless person, he couldn't just hand her five dollars. Who would have thought a kind deed would be so challenging? " I was just going to get lunch. It's about lunch time, anyway. Whaddya say we get something? That cafe," here he gestured back toward one of the cafes," Has amazing scones. My dad didn't show up, so, if you'll try one, tell me what you think..." Was it odd that he wasn't hungry, and that he was tempted to hold his breath? He had to consciously tell himself not to keep himself from naturally doing it.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Προσφορά τροφίμων και θα κερδίσει κάθε κορίτσι. Offer food and you'll win over any girl. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He’s nervous. He’s so totally nervous. Artemis said, practically chanting it in a sing song voice. Oh shut up, Zen snapped back at her. This didn’t stop Art’s good mood though, and Zen could almost feel her smug expression. “Um... Sure, I love to,” Zen said, trying hard to keep a blush from her face. After all, it wasn’t every day a cute guy asked her to lunch, much less talked to her! Zen was used to being ignored, not offered lunch. This was strictly outside of her territory and comfort zone. Art was much better at talking to people then her, but he already knew Zen, and she hoped he wouldn’t be meeting Art any time soon. Thankfully, that didn’t get Art riled up any at all. So Zen looked at Kin, waiting for him to lead the way, and obviously doing a very poor job of hiding her nervousness. “Αχ, γιατί μου?” she muttered under her breath. Words: 159 Outfit: Here

SKITTLES echo, echo i don't wanna be just another echo. Being nervous did not suit the sixteen year old. So it, very fortunately, changed quickly to his confident attitude when she didn't think he was a total creep for the suggestion.
"Awesome! Alright.
"The blond replied. He didn't acknowledge her own nervousness, though he was acutely aware of it." I was a bit worried I'd have to eat alone. I get a bit bored. Y'know." Here, he chuckled. " I have a short attention span." The sad truth. If there wasn't something engaging, he would get bored easily and zone out. But, in truth, if she was there he wouldn't. So he lead her toward the cafe happily, currently quite entertained by this new potential friend. " I'm going to buy a dictionary. What does that mean, Zena?"Kinkade questioned curiously. He really did want to get a dictionary, but his chance of being able to figure it out without knowing the alphabet would prove problematic. Once they reached the cafe, he held the door open for her, gesturing for her to enter.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Αντιμετωπίστε φιλίες σας, όπως τα κοσμήματα αυτά. Treat your friendships as the jewels they are. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zen let out a small laugh, hoping to get some of the tension out of her nerves. She hoped his short attention spain would lead him to forgetting about her. He seemed happy enough, bright and cheery as he led the way to the cafe. As they neared it, she was kinda happy she wouldn't be eating at the Academy again, eating alone, or as alone as you can get when you share your mind with another girl. Sad fact that she spent most days alone, but nonetheless true. She laughed again as he mentioned the dictionary. She doubted he would be able to find his way through it, no matter how hard he tried. Greek could be confusing if you didn't know it. "You don't want to know, Kin, I was just talking to myself," Zen said. She entered ahead of him, the smells all the more tantalizing now that they were in front of her, and her stomach rumbled again. Words: 162 Outfit: Here
SKITTLES echo, echo i don't wanna be just another echo. "Okay,
"Kinkade agreed casually, shrugging. He wasn't going to press the matter. Instead, he trailed behind her, then slipped by to lead her to one of the booths. He gestured for her to sit, taking a spot across from the spot he gestured to. Once he was sitting, he picked up the menu that was set out on the spot. There were two others laying there in the other two, unoccupied spots. But Kinkade didn't need it. He knew it pretty well, having eaten at this cafe many, many times over the years. " So. Zena. What's your favorite class?"Kin questioned curiously, smiling warmly again. He wasn't hungry, but he figured he could stand to order and consume a bit of a scone or something to keep up appearances. Anyway, he wasn't in a huge hurry to order, so he didn't bother to call for the waitress. He figured she'd notice him, even if it took her a minute.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Κάθε φιλία πρέπει να έχει μια αρχή. Every friendship must have a beginning. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zena knew exactly what she wanted, a hamburger, nice and juicy, with nice, crispy french fries. "Powers Control, only place I get to use my powers without getting in trouble... Well, if I don't get caught other places," she said with a smile. Zen whipped the scarf off her neck, laying it on the bench next to her, her hair falling over her shoulders. She sat her elbows on the table, resting her chin on her hands. She didn't know what to say, so she just sat and waited for the waiter. Words: 92 Notes: blahh short post Outfit: Here
